The location is a big plus, very close to the railway station and bus stand. Rooms were okay, and room service was good. There's a kettle in the room for making tea or coffee, and coffee from room service was available any time. Breakfast was ready around 6.45 or 7 a.m. Dinner on the rooftop wasn't great. The staff suggested we try it because it was crowded at Maruthi restaurant on the ground floor, where the food is much better. The rooftop food was average, the service was bad, and with too few staff, dishes took a long time to arrive.

We stayed for a day in the first week of May 2026, and check-in and check-out were smooth. The room was neat, with a water bottle and amenities kit supplied; the AC, TV, and geyser all worked without any issues. Room service was prompt and courteous, and we relished breakfast at Maruthi Restaurant downstairs. Sri Janakiram Hotel in Tirunelveli is quite close to the railway station, and I heartily recommend it.

The food at the restaurant was good, and the hotel is in a prime spot near the railway station. But I've never had a worse stay. We switched rooms three times across two floors, and the plumbing was just as bad in each one. Water from all the pipes was completely black. I'm not sure how the hotel maintains things, and it made me question whether that water might be used to wash vegetables for the food. People should think twice. I'd avoid it if you have small children.

The restaurant was good, and the food quality was good, but I wouldn't stay here again. Compared with my last visit, the rooms have gone downhill. The bathrooms were very dirty, there was hair in the drain pipes, the linen looked old and used, and service was very slow.

The restaurant was average, and service was slow on a Monday morning. At 9 AM the dosa was still being made. The puttu was good, but the pongal was too greasy.
