Minerva Grand Hotel

Dinner was the best part of our visit to Minerva Grand. We ordered ragi dosa, paneer butter masala, naan, and masala papad, and everything was fresh, tasty, and well made. Service was quick and the staff polite. The location in the heart of Tirupati is handy for the temple or exploring the city, and the ambience was comfortable. Breakfast the next morning had a good range of Indian and continental options, but felt average compared with dinner. Some items didn’t seem as fresh or well put together, and the presentation and quality could be better. I’d recommend lunch or dinner here, and hope they improve breakfast to match.

Minerva Grand Tirupati is opposite the Tirupati bus stand, beside Reliance Fresh and RS Brothers malls. The malls are expensive, though worth a visit once. On 20-Nov-2025, the buffet breakfast included doughnut, cake, tea toast, bread with butter and jam, boiled and soaked raw peanuts, sprouted moong, musk melon, papaya, grape juice, pohe, pongal, idli, medu vada, poori, two vegetable dishes, palak uttappa, several wet chutneys, and dry chutney or podi. Lunch was a-la-carte, with North Indian choices such as mixed vegetables, kofta curry, phulka, tandoori butter roti, and kulcha, as well as sweet corn soup, a South Indian mini thali, curd rice, sambar rice, vanilla ice cream, buttermilk, and sweet lassi. Service and preparation take too long. They should serve non-South Indian dishes in a reasonable time instead of steering customers toward South Indian food. Before handing over room keys, they should check that shaving kits, dental kits, soap, shampoo, and other needed items are there for the number of guests. Toilet paper should also be replaced promptly when it runs out. The whole staff could use training to speak Hindi and English properly. And if the owner pays the housekeeping staff a regular, adequate salary, why does the woman cleaning the washroom greet female guests so solicitously? It comes across as if she’s prompting them to tip each time.

The room was clean and well kept, and breakfast had a generous range of good quality food for both local and international tastes. Staff were welcoming, attentive, and ready to share useful information about the area and temple visits from the moment I arrived. I had a wonderful, comfortable stay in Tirupati.

The restaurant downstairs was a big plus. We ate lunch and dinner there, and enjoyed the thallis, fruit punch, panner tikka, idlys, masala dosas, and rava dosas. They refilled the thallis several times and looked after us well. My son especially liked the fruit punch and manchuria and wants to return. Since we had an early 6 AM trip for L2 darshan, they packed breakfast sandwiches and cut fruit for us, which were good enough. We had two rooms for one night from Dec 17th, paying almost 11000/- with an extra person in one room. We arrived late afternoon and checked out at 1 PM the next day after our Tirupathi temple tour and L2 darshan, so we didn’t have the room cleaned. The rooms were bright, fresh, clean, and nice, with toiletries, fresh linen, and water bottles provided. The rollaway extra bed was firm and proper, like you’d expect at a 4* hotel, and my daughter and I both wanted it. The location worked well for us, close to the railway station after our Vande Bharat Express trip from Hyderabad. An auto ride to Minerva Grand Tirupati cost 150/-. Alipiri Circle is about 6KM away, roughly 10 minutes by car. Check-in was easy, though we hadn’t known repairs were underway. They told us the hotel has 90 rooms, with 30 recently upgraded in phase 1 and work underway on the other 60. That work seemed almost like a separate block and caused little disturbance. Staff were polite and decent. A good friend suggested Minerva Grand Tirupati, and we’d come back when needed. Add your photos and review to help others too.
