OYO 38026 chhatrapati residency

I arrived to find the property manager unavailable by phone and sleeping in a guest room. They also refused to honor my prepaid OYO booking, saying they had cut ties with OYO. The entrance and reception are locked at 7 AM. The reception is really a storeroom with rotten vegetables and no ventilation, and the whole small house converted into an OYO has zero ventilation. The staff were very unprofessional and the place filthy. Avoid this hotel, or you could get a rude shock when you arrive.

I booked an AC room, but it only fits two people. The rooms aren't as large as the photos suggest, though they're clean and decent for a cheap stay. The staff were cooperative. Our luck may just have been bad, but their DTH recharge had run out and they forgot to top it up, which was a letdown. Water costs extra. Breakfast was included, but we didn't try it, so I can't comment on it.

They ask guests to open the OYO app and give a five-star rating when checking out. As for the stay, room cleaning was neglected, and although they offered free Wi-Fi, there was no internet. They even asked why I needed three or four bottles of water. Breakfast is only two Idly and one vada, with no option to substitute another item. Tea or coffee isn't included with a substitute, and even with the usual breakfast you have to ask for it. It comes in paper cups like at a shop. There's power backup in the rooms, but no stair lights. The room itself was okay, the service was poor.

The room and bathroom were very clean, and it seems like a good place for a family to stay. But it's not within walking distance of the bus stand, and the railway station is 3km away, though service autos are available. For early check-in, call first and ask the charge. Nobody told me, and I ended up paying 500/- for 4hrs, the same as one day's rent. When I called about it, the management said they were losing money because Oyo was reducing the room price. The staff argued with me and said I could leave and come back after 12clk. The management is terrible. If the hotel is losing money, it should remove its service from Oyo. They should tell customers the early check-in price when they call.
