If your Tirupati visit is for Lord Balaji, this is a handy place to stay. The railway station is within walking distance, and there’s a counter here for booking Sarva darshan tickets and bus tickets from Tirupati to Tirumala. They have both free and paid rooms, plus a large hall you can use for free if you don’t get a room. Restrooms and bathrooms are available, and TTD provides free food for everyone, not just people staying here. You need to show your Aadhar card to book a room.

For 200 rupees per 24 hours from check-in, this is a good deal if you’re traveling alone and need cheap accommodation. It’s on the first floor, right outside Tirupati railway station. The dorm has bunk beds and personal lockers, and they provide two clean sheets. Free drinking water is available. The washrooms are on the second floor, clean but small. The AC runs on a set schedule, which wasn’t an issue for me. The receptionist was very nice and helped with questions about town. It may not suit an older person, though.

There’s no Wi-Fi, but AC and fans are available, and the place is reasonably clean. It works well for a single visitor to Tirupati and is near the railway station, though a little far from the central bus station. Lots of small and medium hotels and restaurants are nearby, with both South Indian options, including Andhra and Chennai food, and Punjabi food.

It’s intended only for visitors coming to Tirupathi for dharisana, and only family members can stay. The building is old but kept up well, and it’s behind the Tirupati railway station. There’s a drinking water dispenser on every floor, though no water comes from the taps. There’s no hot water for bathing.
