We lost the whole night and missed the wedding because we couldn't get into our room. It was booked for a nearby wedding, and the door locked just by closing it, with the key and all our valuables still inside. Management had taken the full room amount and a ₹2,000 deposit before giving us the keys, though the room clearly wasn't maintained properly. This happened around 2:00 a.m. We searched for the key for hours, then contacted the service staff around 4:00 a.m. They told us to wait until 10:00 a.m. for the owner. When we spoke to him, he was rude and blamed us for losing the key even after we explained it was inside the room, then switched off his phone. The room finally opened at 8:00 a.m. with a spare key, which showed the original was inside all along. Still, neither the owner nor the staff took responsibility. The owner said the person who gave us the keys had to explain the situation and be there to get the spare. That person was the groom. How were we supposed to get him there at 4:00 a.m.? What was the service guy or helper meant to do? No one told us at 4:00 a.m. that the key giver had to be there. All our things were locked in the room, we missed the marriage, and we didn't sleep all night. What if we had transport to catch and needed to get somewhere on time? After all that, they just said we'd disturbed their sleep that day. Their poor maintenance and service caused the problem, so why should we face the consequences? Poorly maintained rooms, unhelpful staff, rude behavior, and no accountability. I wouldn't recommend it.
