The room was clean and had a nice view, but it wasn’t worth what we paid. We booked through Agoda and were told on arrival that an extra charge applied under their policy. That brought the room total to 3500, which felt completely unreasonable. There were several other stays nearby, so we left after a day. Sharing this in case it helps someone else.
The heated bedsheets were the one welcome comfort. The rest of the stay was a poor experience and nowhere near worth the price. The location is beautiful, but the website photos are misleading. We had to trek for nearly 30 minutes at night to get there; some taxis go right to the top, but the host didn’t mention that option, which was very inconvenient. Our room wasn’t clean when we arrived, and we had to ask over and over for basics like soap, towels and tissue paper. Food ordered at 8:30 PM took almost three hours to arrive, with half the items missing. It was average at best and highly overpriced. There was wifi, but no connection. When we raised our concerns, the owner’s attitude seemed to get worse. They had run out of bottled water when we asked for drinking water, which was shocking at those rates. I wouldn’t recommend this property.
The only good things were the view and the wooden property, which looks picture-worthy. Our check-in was delayed even though we got there much earlier, and a broken lock in one room meant we had to switch rooms. Service was average at best and not worth the money.
We had such a joyful two-day stay at Villasita Resort for my friend’s wedding. The peaceful location looked picture-perfect, and the hospitality was impressive. Everything was managed well, and I loved the whole experience.
The stay itself was pathetic: the sheets and room smelled, there were pests, and we had to sleep with a spider in the bed. There were only two washrooms for the whole floor. Also, none of the property descriptions mention that there’s a hike to get there. Every property in Kalga involves a hike, so I wouldn’t choose this if you’re with family. Check those glowing reviews too, most seem to be duplicate posts from accounts with just one review.
