Hotel Dhruv Palace

The late checkout discussion was already unsettling: when we asked for just one extra hour, staff said they would throw our luggage out if we were late and that it wasn't their responsibility. Then, after our family had travelled nearly 1,000 km and reached Dhruv Palace around midnight through Agoda, we were spoken to rudely and aggressively. They used abusive language toward my father and brother, and even made threats. With women and children with us, we felt unsafe. We were left standing there until about 1:30 AM while we looked for another hotel. That is a disturbing way to treat a family arriving late at night. The staff member suddenly became polite when speaking to Agoda customer care, despite continuing to be rude to us face to face. We have video proof. There was no professionalism or basic courtesy in how we were treated. I strongly advise families against staying here.

I paid ₹1900 and got a room that felt more like a dharamshala than a hotel. The room and bathroom were cramped, with old curtains and bedding, wrinkled sheets, and blankets that didn't seem clean or fresh. The towels looked as though they'd been reused for years. The toilet and floor were unhygienic, and the bathroom fittings were outdated and poorly maintained. Overall, cleanliness and upkeep were very poor. There were exposed wires hanging from the bathroom ceiling, which felt unsafe. A notice said the hotel wasn't responsible if valuables such as a laptop, phone, or jewellery went missing. That made me question whether they would even help look for lost belongings, and why security seemed weak enough for things to go missing easily. The notice created insecurity, not trust. For that price I expected a clean, decent room. The quality and safety fell far short. A very bad experience and absolutely not worth the money.

My elderly parents felt at ease mainly because the manager spoke Kannada and was so kind and helpful. They aren't comfortable communicating in other languages, and his warm, respectful manner made a real difference. Without him, we'd have been quite dissatisfied. The rest of the hotel was disappointing. For the rates, the rooms weren't up to standard and could use better maintenance and cleaning. The food was well below what I expected, and the restaurant staff didn't seem very hygienic or well trained. I hope management improves the rooms, food, and staff hygiene, since all of that matters for a comfortable stay.

Great stay, and the restaurant food was amazing. The location is perfect for the temple, and the staff were very helpful, especially the receptionist and owner.
