A great guesthouse for people travelling on a budget. The breakfast was good, and the rooftop seating area was fantastic. After coming to India, this was the first decent hot shower I’d had. I’d recommend it if you’re passing through Udaipur.

This is a charming, quiet little place, with tourist spots easy to reach. Basic things are nearby too, including restaurants, pharmacies, salons, and a hospital, all within walking distance. The rooms were well kept and the bathrooms clean. I had no trouble with hot water during my stay. The staff were polite, helpful, and resourceful, and they gave me space.

The Mewar Inn Hotel has a relaxed, calm feel, and the staff are friendly and helpful. It’s on a main road in central Udaipur, so it works well as a base for the sights. The rooms are generously sized and have what you need, hotel quality for backpacker money. The rooftop restaurant is a nice spot for a bite, with generous portions, fair prices, and great service. Nothing seems too much trouble for the staff. Rickshaws are easy to find. After a couple of rides, you get a sense of what to pay between the hotel and other places, and it isn’t much, since most attractions are 100-150 rupees away. I found the lake edge a little smelly from the water, so if you’d rather not stay in the city centre or by the lake, I’d highly recommend this hotel. I’d definitely stay again if I return to Udaipur.

The hotel is a bit far from Gangori ghat, but autos are easy to get right outside, and the ride to the main market takes about 15 minutes. The host was helpful with all our needs, and the food was great. One of the best budget hotels in udaipur.
