Krishna Ranch

We had such good food, and the staff were lovely. The setting was fabulous, with plenty of peace and wildlife.

The owners clearly care about the ranch and the horses, and the staff were friendly and helpful. There’s good food, plus local guided walks and horse rides if you want them. It’s a calm place with outdoor space to unwind, just a short taxi ride from Udaipur, and a welcome break from India’s cities. I’d recommend it.

The food tastes fresh because it’s grown or made locally, either on the ranch or nearby. We also really enjoyed the three-hour trek into the hills, past small farms, for a lovely look at the local community and scenery. It’s hard to believe such a peaceful escape is only 6 km from the city centre.

After the walk we had a delicious homemade lunch at the peaceful farm, and they’d also brought mineral water, chai, and snacks for the hike. I went through the National Park with Dinesh and a lovely couple. It was a varied route over beautiful mountains, past lakes and countryside, and got our hearts pumping without being too strenuous. Such a relaxing change after the busy cities, and a perfect end to our trip. One of our highlights, highly recommended!
