Lords Inn Udaipur

We were moved from a club room to a suite, which was spacious. One room had a problem with its bathroom flush and lights, but the staff fixed it promptly. The hospitality and staff behavior were very good, especially Mr. Shubham and RM, Mr. Govind. Mr. Anish at the front office was cooperative, and the staff were sincere about resolving things quickly. We also tried restaurant room service. It was fast, and the food tasted good.

The food had plenty of variety and was delicious. Laxmi and sachin at reception were especially courteous and helpful, making sure we had what we needed. The rest of the staff were polite and attentive, always ready to help with a smile. Check-in was quick and smooth, and the service throughout our stay was exceptional. The staff members were polite and courteous, but the hotel seemed badly understaffed and poorly managed. At check-in and check-out, nobody helped with luggage, and there was just one person working the whole front desk. Room service was slow, and we had to call several times before anyone responded. We had late check-out included in our booking, but the front office was uncooperative and kept pressuring us to leave “as soon as possible,” saying the hotel was full. At the same time, availability was visible on the official website. It was very disappointing to be told that in order to limit a service we’d agreed to in our booking. It reflects poorly on management. The location is desolate and inconvenient for visiting Lake Pichola or City Palace. They’re at least 20 minutes away, and traffic makes the trip longer. For a visit focused on Udaipur’s main attractions, this location doesn’t work well. The restaurant, Blue Coriander, is heavily overpriced. The biryani was bland, the chilli chicken flavors were inconsistent, and the other dishes we tried were below average. The prices don’t match the food quality. The rooms are spacious and relatively clean, but the maintenance issues are serious. The washrooms start smelling strongly after just one use, and the odor lingers. Hot water is inconsistent and hard to manage, the bathroom fittings are frustrating to use, and our TV didn’t work during the stay. The stay was very underwhelming and nowhere near what I’d expect from a 4-star property. Between the maintenance, poor service, and questionable handling of the agreed booking terms, this felt like a 2-star experience at best. I wouldn’t recommend it because of the location, or unless significant improvements are made.

The property was well kept throughout, and the pool water was clean. There are four floors with around 10-15 rooms on each, and the swimming pool is on the top floor. There’s no dedicated parking area, but enough room outside to park a vehicle comfortably. We booked through MMT and got a decent discount plus complimentary breakfast. The location was good, and our room was spacious, clean, and equipped with everything we needed. Staff were polite, and check-in and check-out were smooth. The buffet breakfast was impressive in taste and quality, with a live kitchen as a nice extra. A very pleasant stay, and I’d definitely recommend this place 🥰
