My two-night break fell apart when I arrived and the owner refused to check me in. I’d booked through Cleartrip with vouchers and discounts, but he gave no apology or explanation, only saying the hotel had stopped accepting online bookings a month or two earlier. I was left scrambling for another place and paid nearly 1.5 times what I’d planned. It was a frustrating waste of time and energy, and the booking policy change hadn’t been updated or communicated to guests. I’d advise anyone booking online to call ahead and check the hotel is still accepting reservations. I learned that the hard way and wouldn’t want someone else to face the same frustration and embarrassment.

The rooms are old and basic, but that’s understandable at this budget price. What makes The Mama Hostel (New Haveli) worth considering is the welcoming host, Manish Mama, and the rooftop, with a particularly good lake view. He went out of his way to help us, from parking to arranging local tours and other things, and was a genuine local guide. The location also makes it easy to reach the lake and central spots. I’d recommend it to backpackers or anyone wanting a personal, helpful stay.

The rooftop cafe’s view over Gangaur Ghat was mesmerizing. The staff made me feel welcome, and the prices were very reasonable. I had a fantastic stay and would happily recommend it. ❤️😊

The staff gave good service and behaved nicely. The room was clean, the food was amazing, and the cafe restaurant had a lovely lake view. Nice place, I’d visit again. Thanks to the nayee haveli hotel.

Getting into the room was a hassle: I arrived late, couldn’t reach the host after several tries, and when he finally answered he said there was no booking under my name. I showed my online confirmation and clarified my details, and then he gave me the keys. The bathroom had a very bad smell, and there was no water in the washrooms until morning. When I asked, he said, “You came at the wrong time, sir.” It was a thoroughly unpleasant stay. Be cautious before booking here.
