The service was definitely a highlight, and the hotel turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Rooms are spacious and well appointed, with great quality linen that helped me sleep well. Breakfast was a little disappointing, short on variety and a bit bland for the Indian palate, though the rest of the food was alright. There’s a full-fledged gym, and the hotel works well for people with mobility issues: a lift runs from the basement to all floors. If you have mobility issues, I’d recommend requesting a room near the lift. It’s good value for money and family friendly, especially in the chaos of udaipur, where hotels can charge a bomb without giving you much for it. The location is a little way from the main city. That does bring some peace, but you’ll need a car to get to the city and most of the tourist spots.

Dinner was satisfying, with tasty dishes, nice presentation, and good-sized portions. The restaurant team was polite and served us promptly. Breakfast was fresh and had a decent selection, and the dining space was clean and orderly. Our room was clean and well kept, a comfortable place to unwind after a long day. The staff made check-in and the rest of the stay easy with their courteous help. I had a pleasant visit, enjoyed the food and hospitality, and would consider coming back or recommending it to someone looking for a comfortable stay with decent dining.

The service was the worst I've ever seen. The internet didn't work, and they charged us double. On two days in a row, the bar got our cocktails wrong. After waiting an hour and a half, I ended up making my own. The next day, it happened again. It was happy hour, but they said it wasn't and told me to take the elevator to get a picture, come back down, and show it to them. That was impossible because at 6:30 pm, right in the middle of happy hour, we had gone to dinner. Surreal.

The details at Hotel Pride, Udaipur made a strong impression on me, especially the alkaline drinking water and the paper-based practices that avoid plastic. These choices show real care for the environment and guests' health. It's rare to find a hotel that seems so sincere about sustainability, so kudos to the management for putting those values into practice. If you're traveling to Udaipur, I'd call this a must-stay place, much like a food destination people say is a must-eat.
