Surya Kothi Resort

My girlfriend booked this resort as a birthday surprise for me, but the stay was disappointing from beginning to end. The rooms we got were in very poor condition and nothing like the photos shown during booking. The staff overall were rude and behaved poorly, and the place just felt bad. Most of all, I don’t think this resort is safe for girls at all. My girlfriend had been in touch with Manav, who sits at reception, about the booking since we were traveling from Delhi. I’m not sure if he’s the manager or staff. After we arrived, she spoke with him separately about decorating the room for my birthday. During that interaction, he flirted and acted in an inappropriate, unprofessional way that made her feel unsafe. That’s completely unacceptable. I’d strongly advise people to avoid this resort, especially couples and families. I regret choosing it and would never recommend it to anyone.

The food arrived fresh and quickly, and it tasted great. The portions were satisfying, and everything was neatly presented. Staff were polite and attentive, making sure the delivery was done properly. Room service was excellent, convenient, and pleasant. I’d definitely recommend it.

The staff were extremely polite, helpful, and attentive throughout, and the food was delicious. The rooms were comfortable, spacious, and clean. Surya Kothi Resort, Udaipur is beautiful, peaceful, and well maintained, with an ambience that reflects Udaipur’s charm. The service exceeded our expectations. It’s a lovely place to relax and enjoy a memorable getaway. Highly recommended!

We were a group of four and wanted to change places right away, but we had booked through an agent and couldn’t switch accommodation. We unwillingly had to stay another two days. The whole property felt poorly maintained, with unsafe, unstable stairs and a lack of cleanliness throughout. The floor was sticky, as though it hadn’t been cleaned, and the sheets and pillows were filthy and clearly not changed or properly washed. Worst of all, we found a cockroach in the food. The staff felt extremely sorry when we confronted them, but this is unacceptable and a serious hygiene issue. How is this place 3 stars? Calling it a “luxury boutique hotel” is misleading, there’s nothing luxurious about it and it doesn’t meet basic standards for cleanliness or maintenance. It was a complete waste of money. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else, don’t waste your hard-earned money here.
