Hotel Atharva

The meal was delicious, the room was neat and clean, and the staff were polite and helpful. Mr. Nirmal at reception was especially good. We had a positive stay overall, though a few things need attention: room service was slow, there was fungus on the wooden doors, and water didn't drain properly in the bathroom or wash basin.

The rooms were spacious and clean, and the property itself is good. But the service was very disappointing. I paid extra for a room with a Mahakaal temple view and was moved to a different room anyway. I also asked for an iron that never came, though a staff member turned up the next morning to collect it. Before I could even confirm my booking, I called the hotel 20-25 times without getting an answer. They sent a WhatsApp message promising to call back, but never did. I had to leave urgent work and go to the hotel myself to check the reservation. The staff seemed completely uninterested in helping guests.

The entrance looked grand, there was good parking, and reception gave the impression of a premium hotel. The location was convenient for visiting Mahakaal from gate no 4. But the room itself was average, with dirty bedsheets and poor hygiene, and the bathroom was only so-so for cleanliness. At around 4-5k a night for a base room, that was very disappointing. Breakfast was average too, so don't expect much. Like other hotels in Ujjain, this place didn't maintain cleanliness even at this price, which isn't acceptable.

The restaurant was good, but breakfast had a very poor spread with hardly any options. My room was mediocre, had no windows, and the toilet commode was badly stained. It didn't feel like a premium property, and there was no hot water.
