Prakriti-The Retreat

The resort sits right by the river bed, and getting there was easy, with hassle-free roads and plenty of parking. The rooms were very clean, and the caretakers were humble and quick to respond whenever we asked for something. The owner was friendly and humble too, and sent us details about Harshil, weather updates, road conditions, and a route map well before our stay. We were there from 25-27 Dec, and were treated very well from arrival to departure. The food was finger-licking good, service was very good, and the live music was fun. One of the best places to stay in Harsil valley. Kudos to the team.

We were four families at Prakriti resort from 26 December 2025 to 29 December 2025, staying in premium rooms with balconies. The resort is in Harsil Valley, right beside the Bhagirathi River, with mountain peaks visible beyond it. The setting felt magical. Evenings were a lot of fun. There's live music with singers and musicians, and guests are encouraged to join in. We made good use of it and spent hours by the bonfire near the music area, where they served soup and snacks. There's also a library and a shared sitting area. The modern, comfortable rooms have the essential fittings, furniture, and appliances. They're spacious but not large, and the bathrooms are okay-sized with good interiors and fittings. The restaurant is bright and pleasant, and the vegetarian food was delicious and hygienic. Over our three days, we could hardly find an item that fell short. The service and hospitality were excellent. Mr Negi and Mr Rawat were always eager to help. After visiting Gangotri, we went to Harsil market looking for lunch, but couldn't find anywhere reasonable. It was already 3:30 PM and we were hungry, so I called Mr Negi to ask if he could arrange lunch for 12 people even though lunch service had ended. He responded positively and said they'd prepare it. They maintain a high standard of service. No cons for us. Best wishes to the resort, and thanks for making our stay memorable.

I was travelling solo and felt incredibly safe here. The staff were prompt and hospitable, and in the extreme cold they even provided warm pouches to all the guests. The food was excellent, too. The property is beautifully set on the banks of Bhagirathi River, with fantastic views and great service. I'd definitely return and recommend it to others.

The food was delicious and easy on the stomach, and the pakodas were just right for the bitter cold outside. The rooms were nice, and the staff were very hospitable. It's an incredible property with a view, and the closest hotel if you want to stay in the Harsil valley. You can get to the river, with a lovely flowering garden alongside it.
