Rowton Hotel

During our three-night stay, the rooms and dustbins weren't cleaned at all. Even after we asked several times, the bedsheets and towels were never changed, and no bathing soap was supplied after the first day. The manager and staff were rude and unhelpful the whole time. The doors were a serious problem. Both the main lock and bathroom door locks malfunctioned, and my elderly mother got trapped in the bathroom twice before managing to get out with considerable effort. The lift was out of order too. Some guests couldn't reach their rooms, and one guest with a heart condition waited outside in the cold for two hours because he couldn't climb the stairs. He was eventually moved to another hotel, but only after a frustrating four-hour wait. We were there in peak winter, but the geysers didn't work, so we had to bathe in cold water. That was especially distressing with people aged 75-80+ in our group. The buckets were broken, no drinking water was provided, and even getting tea was a struggle. We had to ask repeatedly; each cup cost ₹20, came half-filled in a tiny cup, and took 30 minutes to arrive. This was easily one of my worst hotel experiences. If zero stars were possible, I'd give that. I strongly advise avoiding the place even if the rooms are offered free. If you can pay more for an established hotel chain, I suggest doing that for a better living experience.

The manager and staff were nice, and the service was fast. The VIP room was comfortable for a stay, and the rooms and toilets were clean. In short, one of the best places for a night stay.

The worst, unhygienic hotel I've ever stayed at. Very bad, and I won't stay there again.

The lift got stuck while it was being used, and when we reported it, the service response was strangely that this happens as usual. That dismissive reply made things worse, and customer safety seemed completely neglected. The lift infrastructure also isn't up to date. Think twice before using it.
