Holiday Vagamon

The staff were supportive, and the resort has plenty for families: a kids' play area, table tennis and carrom in a small party hall, plus a pool with mountain views. The villa-style rooms, tree house, and dome stays sit among a lovely tea estate, about a 5-7 minute drive from Vagamon Junction. Breakfast is included, while dinner needs to be ordered ahead by evening. We found the costs high: ₹750 per day for a 10-year-old, ₹500 per day for an extra bed, and another ₹500 per day for AC. It left us feeling the management was money minded whenever we asked about services. The room was spacious and otherwise clean, but the washroom was a little wet and should have been tidier at check-in. Overall, a good location and amenities, though the extra charges made the value feel poor.

Holiday Vagamon was easy to get to, with good roads and solid network coverage throughout our stay. The pool was well maintained, and the view was peaceful and scenic. We had a good getaway overall. The restaurant was the letdown, as both the food and service could be better.

Joby was particularly helpful, and the staff responded fast when we called. The location was nice and the breakfast buffet good, but the à la carte dinner wasn't very tasty. Our bed sheets had stains, and the extra towels we asked for were stiff and unusable. There's also a charge for an extra bed. It felt like the quality had slipped since our earlier visits.

I wouldn't recommend this place. The food was okay, but overpriced, and reception staff need to do better. The TV in our room stopped working after a while. We reported it, but nobody came to fix it. In the cottage, there's a sofa in the connecting room, but if an extra person uses it, they call it an extra bed and charge 1500. Cleanliness inside the cottage needs attention too.
