The Grasmere Resorts

The pool was the main reason we booked this property for around ₹19,000, but when we arrived at about 1 PM it was dirty and unusable. After repeated requests and pressure, staff only started work after 3 PM. They drained and refilled it instead of properly cleaning it, and it wasn’t ready until around 10 AM the next morning, just before our 11 AM checkout. We barely got to use the pool we paid for. They kept assuring us it would be cleaned soon, but nothing was handled properly. Coordination and communication among the resort team were poor, and it was difficult to reach anyone responsible. After arguments and complaints, they offered only a small discount on dinner and breakfast, nowhere near enough to make up for the holiday plans we lost. I booked through Goibibo⁠�, and the dispute is still ongoing. I’ll be requesting a full refund because our family vacation was spoiled. They advertise the property as a “villa,” but it felt more like a lodge with cramped rooms. We booked all 4 rooms expecting to stay together and spend time in a common area, but there was no proper shared space. The rooms were separated and cramped, which ruined the family vacation atmosphere. I wouldn’t recommend it to families expecting a real villa experience.

We had dinner and breakfast, and both were fresh and tasty. The staff were very supportive and attentive, which made us more comfortable. Our sunrise view room had a lovely ambience, with a calm and peaceful atmosphere that made it a great place for a relaxing getaway. We had a delightful stay and would recommend it to others.

The cottages were nice, especially the big open balcony, and room service was good. We enjoyed the food: breakfast came as a combo, and we had lunch there once. There were a few problems during our stay. The pool water was green and dirty, the geyser didn’t work, so they gave us a plug-in bucket heater, and the water supply stopped twice. The issues seemed temporary, and they gave us a discount when settling the final bill.

The property manager Bibin and HK supervisor Jitin were helpful and took care of our needs. The staff were courteous and service-minded, though communication could be a concern. Food was good, and the rooms could use a bit more maintenance. It’s a great, serene location, and the drive to the property was fantastic. Overall, a good place to stay.
