Tom & Jerry, the resident dogs, are the first thing you might notice. Dog lovers will remember them fondly, and even if you’re neutral about dogs, they’re friendly and constantly follow you around. If you don’t like dogs, this may not be the place for you. The couple running Ally Pally were friendly and accommodating, and they helped us through repeated cab troubles, either sorting things out or standing by us when we were left stranded. Their food deserves a mention too. Our group of six arrived at different times and changed orders often, which they met with gentle amusement. I can barely think of a dish that wasn’t excellent. We stayed two nights in Oct 2016, when the weather was mostly pleasant outdoors, with little sign of the post-monsoon season. The place has a welcoming, easygoing air that suits its name. Rooms are functional, as you’d expect from a guest house, with decent bathrooms. It’s a great option with friends or family in that price range, and worth checking out if you’re around Vagator.

It’s a wonderful place to stay and comparatively cheaper than other resort houses. The food is excellent. Mr Rudolph, who is both the owner and a chef, shows his talent with delicious continental and classic Goan dishes. September through November is a good time to visit for the breezy weather.
