Down to Earth Farmstay by LAKSEM

We had a wonderful stay, with comfortable, well-kept rooms and air conditioning. The property sits among coconut palms, with cows, chickens and cats around, so it has a lovely quiet farm atmosphere. Mutu, the caretaker, was such a kind person and an amazing cook. You can arrange full board there at a very fair price, and the food was delicious. Rooms cost around 5,000 INR, depending on the season. The owner was incredibly kind, well-educated and sophisticated, and has lived abroad. His English is excellent, and he was always glad to help with arrangements, drivers or any questions. We felt very well looked after. The place is also very close to the location for safaris to Topslip Tiger National Park (Tamil Nadu) and Parambikulam Tiger Park (Kerala), which share the same entrance. The freshwater pumpset swim was such a refreshing experience, especially with nature all around. We also loved waking up to birdsong and getting a break from the city noise. Muthuswamy took great care of us and made sure we were comfortable throughout. The place feels safe and peaceful for kids to enjoy the outdoors freely, so I’d recommend it for families. The food was tasty and homely, and we came away with a really memorable, relaxing stay.

The stay was calm and scenic, surrounded by coconut trees, and made for a lovely family break a couple of hours from Coimbatore. Booking over WhatsApp was easy and convenient. My son was visiting from the UK and had a fun new experience here. He especially liked the kayithu kattil, the traditional rope cot, and happily spent nearly two hours playing in the farm tank. Mr. Muthu Samy and his family were kind and helpful throughout, and the meals they made were delicious and felt very homely. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. There’s also a lovely pond nearby. The Wi-Fi and TV didn’t work in the room, and I wish that had been addressed when I raised it. The cycle and tractor were away for service, which was a bit disappointing. Still, we had a refreshing time, and I’d recommend the farm stay to anyone looking for a peaceful family retreat.

The rooms were clean and well looked after, and the service was excellent throughout. With coconut and mango trees all around, the fresh air and quiet atmosphere made this a very pleasant guest house stay.
