Dwivedi Hotels Sri Omkar Palace

The restaurant has a lovely view of the Ganga and a broad menu. The food was good quality and reasonably priced. Dwivedi Hotels Sri Omkar Palace is close to Chousatti Ghat, with Dashaswamedh Ghat just a 3-4 minute walk away. The staff were very helpful and kind. For an affordable, comfortable stay in Varanasi, I’d recommend it.

The building is old in a lovely, rustic, charming way, and our room was much bigger than we expected. We loved the location, the views, and the staff. The rooftop kitchen team were amazing, the food was fresh, and breakfast was great. The airport pickup and drop-off made things easy. We had two issues and let reception know. Also, monkeys like to visit, so keep the doors and windows shut.

I spent whole days sometimes on the room terrace, away from the bustle, and it was all I needed to experience Varanasi. The riverbank is just a few steps away and quiet, unless you’re there for the Aarti ceremony, about a slow 15-minute walk from the hotel. The stay felt homey. Some staff looked after me like family, perhaps because I was an older woman traveling solo. They arranged the trips I wanted, and room service was very good. I could easily have stayed two months.

Our balcony looked out over the Ganges, and the room was close to the ghats. The mini fridge was a big help in the heat, and the AC worked well. The rate was a little higher than other places, but the location and service made up for it. The bathroom door could use some attention. Staff arranged our airport pickup and had porters meet us to carry our bags through the 20-minute maze of lanes down to the hotel. We wouldn’t have found the right place on our own.
