Hotel Ganges Grand

Getting there by car for check-in or checkout was difficult. It’s in a busy market area with vehicle restrictions, and the ropeway construction makes access harder. On foot from the temple or ghat, or by auto, it was very easy. The staff were polite and always willing to help, and the location is walkable to the market, ghat, and temple. The cafeteria was good, though breakfast choices were limited. Rooms were small to average in size, and the building is old.

My dad and I stayed for three nights after I had an exam in Varanasi, and we also visited some temples and other places. We booked an executive twin bed room, with several important places close by. The room and toilet were very clean, and the room was cleaned regularly. Reception staff were hospitable, and room service responded to what we needed. They also provided toiletries and a small packet of biscuits and chips each day. Because of ropeway construction, our cab couldn’t reach the hotel. They sent someone to bring our luggage, which meant a 200-250m walk. The room price felt high, and the restaurant food was just okay and could be better. Those were my only reasons for giving four stars. If the price isn’t an issue, it’s a place I’d consider again if Lord Shiva calls me back to Varanasi.

Hotel Ganges Grand was a lovely place to stay. The location made it easy to explore, and our room was spotless and really comfortable. Staff were attentive and the service was quite good. I’d recommend it! 🤩✨😊

The food discount I was eligible for wasn’t applied by the restaurant staff because they said the bill had already been printed. On top of that, repair work was underway, and they put me in a room near it, with constant dust and noise. When we complained, they said there were no other rooms, though that wasn’t true. There should be an option to give zero stars.
