Hotel Regency

The poor service and lack of basic hospitality made this hotel feel overpriced. The reception staff were uncooperative and arrogant, and the staff overall came across as unprofessional. It also felt like they expected tips for even the smallest tasks, which made us uncomfortable. Several items shown on the in-house restaurant menu weren't available. When I ordered food through Zomato, I asked the hotel for plates; they first refused and then never provided them. My experience was extremely disappointing, and I would not recommend the place. If you're after a pleasant family stay, I'd avoid it and look for other options.

Autos run to all parts of the city day and night, and the hotel is conveniently placed about 800 metres from Varanasi Junction railway station. It's clean and very well maintained.

We stayed at Hotel Regency with corporate colleagues and our families, and the hygiene and security staff behavior fell short of what we'd expect. The bed sheets, pillow covers, and quilt covers in a friend's room looked as if they'd been used by the previous guest. The room wasn't properly cleaned, and the cleanliness was extremely poor. The bathroom had no basic amenities. The towels looked old and worn, and seemed to have been dried and put back without being properly washed. The security guards were unpleasant and appeared to expect tips from the time we arrived until we left, behaving more like street beggars than trained hotel security. Reception staff, by contrast, were polite, calm, and professional in their communication, as you'd want at a business hotel.

The staff were okay, but the service wasn't good and the amenities didn't match what we were charged. Some rooms smelled, and the balcony couldn't be accessed. The price is higher than the service warrants, and better options are available for that amount.
