I reported this to the police and higher authorities, but the hotel staff still wouldn't help or share any footage. This place feels like a serious security risk, and I urge people, especially women and solo travelers, to stay away. Authorities should investigate it. I was called to Varanasi by someone posing as a client for an engagement function. He booked Hotel Shree Kashi Inn and paid in advance, which made him seem genuine. I stepped out briefly, and when I returned, my camera, laptop, documents, and personal belongings had all been stolen from my room. The hotel hadn't taken my ID, its CCTV cameras weren't working, and the staff refused to cooperate or accept responsibility. Nobody took action to help me. I believe this may have been a planned trap, and I fear the hotel could be involved with, or helping, a criminal gang targeting outsiders through fraud and theft. I don't know what else may be going on there. Women and people traveling alone, please avoid it. I fear for your safety. In my view, it could provide cover for criminals, terrorists, or illegal activity.

I stayed there for two days last week, and it was the worst experience I've had so far. During Mahakumbh they charged a lot, like a three-star hotel, but offered no services. A single room cost 7k. There was nothing good about the place, and the people seemed totally money minded, taking advantage of Mahakumbh. I wouldn't recommend staying there.

It's very close to Varanasi railway station, with a nearby market where you can find tasty food at reasonable prices. The owner was cooperative and behaved well, and the staff and management were hospitable. The place was hygienic and a great place to stay. Much appreciated!

It's a short walk from Varanasi Junction, and the place is peaceful and pocket friendly. That's why I'm giving it three stars. Since it's a home-stay, though, some basics need attention: there's no intercom, and they generally don't provide towels. Tour planning sites list lots of things, but two stars for the facilities.

Cleanliness was zero, and the toilets stank. In winter there weren't even blankets, and there was no breakfast, almirah, or mirror. The photos online and the five-star comments are totally fake.
