Hotel Vedangam Palace - near Kashi Vishwanath Temple

The cleanliness was poor, with dust and stains all over, including on the towels. Breakfast choices were very limited, and laundry took so long that I was lucky to get my things back before my flight. Front desk staff weren't very friendly and knew little about my reservation, including that I'd already paid 30% down. Pretty dismal stay, I'd avoid this place altogether.

The location is excellent, close to temples, ghats, food spots, and easy to find autos and rickshaws. Rooms were clean and spacious, and the washrooms were clean, spacious, and well maintained. Basement parking was handy for our own vehicle, and the food, especially breakfast, was good. The main problem was slow service. We waited almost 30 minutes for a simple sandwich at breakfast and had to ask several times. The same happened with idly and other items, and other guests were complaining too. Room service could take 20-30 minutes or longer even for water or small requests. Sometimes no one answered the phone, and even when they did, we had to call 3-4 times to follow up. It got frustrating. The hotel has a lot going for it, but staff responsiveness and service speed need to improve.

Himanshu, the Manager, helped me from the booking stage right through checkout. The service and cleanliness were excellent, and breakfast was very good, so don't miss it if you stay. The location is excellent for Kasi Vishwanath, with almost all the important places to visit close by. Autorickshaw’s were easy to find even in the middle of the night or early morning.

The stay was very good, and the staff were really helpful. Thank you, Himanshu ji, for arranging an extension at short notice. One request: please have more restaurant staff during breakfast. It gets hard to get things on time, waits grow, and hygiene can suffer in the process.
