Kedar ghat sits between Assi and Manikarnika ghat, which made it easy to walk to a morning aarti at Assi Ghat at sunrise and join the evening aarti crowd at Dashashwamedh ghat. The guesthouse is well cared for and sufficiently clean, and the owners are welcoming and helpful without being intrusive. Stepping outside, you’re right by a small Hanuman temple. Gauri Kedareshwar Temple, the second most important temple in Varanasi, is just a two-minute walk along a street lined with food stalls and fruit and vegetable sellers. There’s also a shop with necessities up the street. My room didn’t face the beautiful Ganga, so I watched the sunrise and meditated on the spacious roof terrace instead. Kedareshwar guesthouse turned out to be a perfect base for exploring Varanasi, and I’d be happy to stay there again.

The hot shower at Kedareswar Hotel was the best I’ve had in India, with steady hot water and good pressure every time. Our room was huge and clean, and the staff helped with whatever we needed to enjoy Varanasi. Since the hotel is on a ghat and cars can’t reach it, someone picked us up from the main road. We had a lovely stay and highly recommend Kedareswar hotel.

The view from the rooms and balcony was great, and the location worked really well for us. We were there with our son, and Mintu and his brothers made us feel at home. Everyone was friendly and helped arrange boat trips and take care of our requests. Raj made a very nice breakfast and even flew a kite with our son. The rooms were clean and a good size. We enjoyed our stay a lot.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were clean and the staff very friendly. From the hotel, we walked to all the famous places, and the temple was about 10 minutes away on foot. It’s right on kedar ghat, with just a few steps down to the holy ganga. A gem in Banaras.

For a low price, this is an awesome place to stay. It’s right on the banks of the Ganges River, and you can enjoy the river from the hotel balcony.
