Mad Squad Hostel

The common sitting area was useful since we could relax there even after checkout. Our standard room for two adults was quite good, and the place had a pleasant atmosphere. Staff were friendly, with support available around the clock if anything needed sorting out. The location was convenient too, about 2 km from the main attractions.

The bathroom was very dirty, and the place didn't feel livable from a cleanliness or health perspective. I booked and paid for an AC room at Mat Square, but was given a non-AC room when I arrived. When I questioned it, management gave vague and incorrect answers. The service was poor despite taking full payment. My stay in Varanasi was a very bad experience, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Think carefully before booking.

The atmosphere at Madsquad was a big part of my stay, with relaxed hangouts, traveler stories around bonfires, and a feeling of being included. The housekeeping crew also deserves thanks for keeping the place comfortable and tidy. It was spotless throughout, from the floors and towels to the lounges, and I could unwind easily. Manikarnika Ghat and the Kashi corridors were nearby, with markets and places to eat within reach. Rohit made logistics easier with practical tips, Shubhi pointed me toward hidden spots, Sanket created a friendly feel through events, and Ranjit ji's guidance was like having a local mentor. The whole stay felt warm and connected, a lovely way to experience Varanasi.

The rooms were comfortable and the whole place felt lively and welcoming. I liked the colorful interiors and the shared area where it was easy to meet other travelers. Staff were friendly and ready to point out local spots. The hostel is close to the ghats and main attractions, which made exploring Varanasi simple. A nice affordable option for backpackers or solo travelers visiting Banaras.
