OYO 4409 Hotel Chaitanya Inn

The room wasn’t as shown in the photos, and the hotel was in a secluded location. It also lacked the OYO amenities. Whenever I asked about something, they said OYO hadn’t provided it and that they were closing soon. The worst surprise was a second entrance to the room, with its gate opening into a hall, which wasn’t shown in the pictures. A very bad experience. Don’t go.

The room was average for the price, and I would have given it three stars. But during checkout yesterday, the receptionist asked to use my phone, saying it was needed for the checkout process. The OYO app opened to the review screen, and I said I’d rate it later because I was in a hurry. Before I could say more, he snatched my phone. I protested, and he argued that he owned property worth crores and wouldn’t take a cheap-looking 2-4k phone. He then rated himself five stars, “Excellent,” returned my phone, and told me to complain wherever I wanted. I was angry at this unprofessional, unruly behavior, but kept calm and politely asked if that was how he treated customers. He told me to leave quietly or I’d be beaten up. I thanked him and left. There were several CCTV cameras, and one of them must have recorded the whole incident.

We had a great time celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday with a group of four. The rooms were cosy, the staff were decent, and the hotel was a nice place away from all the chaos.

It’s really quiet here, with no outside noise, so it’s a peaceful place to rest and sleep well. I’ll definitely stay here again next time I come to banaras.
