The staff were polite and helpful, and I had a good stay. The hotel is conveniently near Scindia Ghat, where you can take a holy dip in Ganga Ji before going on to Kal Bhairav Mandir and Kashi Vishwanath Ji Temple. Getting there was the difficult part: we took an auto, then a pulled rickshaw, then walked about 1km. Keep that in mind if you're traveling with elderly people or kids. For couples and younger guests it's good, much like other hotels near the temple. The hotel staff should check room amenities properly before check-in. I had a small issue, but they fixed it later.

The main drawback was getting to the hotel, rather than its facilities. OYO Scindia Palette Heritage has a heritage feel and is close to the ghat, which may suit people who specifically want to stay by the ghats. But it's tucked deep into narrow lanes, with dark, congested approach roads, especially at night. Finding it the first time is difficult, and carrying luggage through the lanes is inconvenient for families and older travelers. It's not a good fit if you need easy access or convenient transport. I'd choose somewhere on or near the main road for taxis, auto-rickshaws, restaurants, and local attractions, while still being able to visit the ghats easily.

Getting to Palette Heritage Scindia Ghat is a challenge. Autos and rickshaws can't reach it, so you have to carry your luggage through the narrow Banaras lanes (galis), which is tiring. Once there, the rooms are spacious and well-maintained, though expensive. Room service was prompt and the food was good. The setting right on the ghat is the standout. The location is beautiful, and if you have a ghat-view room, the sunrise from it is stunning and memorable. It seems better suited to winter, as the heat and access difficulties may make summer less comfortable. A scenic, peaceful stay, as long as you're prepared for the walk.

The staff were a real help, especially manager Lalit ji, and the food was mouth-watering. Service could be slow, though, and I sometimes had to contact Lalit ji a couple of times during the day to get things done. This peaceful, scenic property sits by Scindia Ghat, right behind Scindia Guest House, and was formerly known as East View. It's in a heritage building, so some parts feel a little dated. I loved that charm and the feeling of staying in an old building thoughtfully converted into a hotel near the sacred Ganga. Getting there took some effort. Our rickshaw dropped us about a kilometre away, and we walked the rest. Access also involves a flight of steps, something elderly guests should keep in mind. I'd recommend it if you enjoy heritage character and a peaceful riverside stay.

The stay was good apart from an issue with the booking. I called the property on the day we arrived to confirm my reservation through the Check inn app, and they agreed they had it. But when we got there, they said there was no booking. After I contacted the app, they gave us a room, but it wasn't the one we'd booked. They put us in a cheaper room, then after two days said an upgrade would cost extra. Seems like they're doing something wrong, as many people have had the same experience 👍🏻
