PointBreak Surf Stay

Five days of staying and surfing at Point Break gave us one of the most wholesome, adventurous trips I’ve had, and a wonderful way to experience Varkala. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the food was authentic Kerala style. Hamza, Era, Ashok and Anil are knowledgeable, empathetic instructors, so you can trust them to give you a good start with surfing. Hamza also looked after the resort and its guests with a lot of care and respect. If you’ve been hoping to surf with a reliable, safe school, go with these guys. You won’t be disappointed!

The peaceful, well-kept property is lovely, and the beach is an easy walk away. It was a comfortable place to unwind. I was a beginner at surfing and felt safe and supported throughout the course. Hamza was patient, encouraging, and helpful, and made a real effort to make us feel at home. The other staff were just as friendly and accommodating, always ready to help. I’d recommend Point Break Surf Club for a relaxed stay and a good surfing experience, especially if you’re new to it.

I loved how clean and comfortable the rooms were, and the food was homely, high quality, and delicious. The stay and activities were well organised, too. Point Break is in a great spot, with shops a two-minute walk away and major places reachable by auto. It’s peaceful enough to hear the sea from your room. The people made the experience: I made friends and connections I’ll always treasure. Hamza became a friend and went out of his way to help with anything we needed. The surfing instructors were excellent, and Vinu is an incredible surfer and true professional.

Hamza and Manoj took great care of the property, and their hospitality stood out. They even arranged a barbecue for the guests, which made for a fun evening together. I didn’t get to surf with them myself, though other guests had good things to say about the lessons and their experience. The property has a lovely beach view, greenery, and easy access to the sand and cliff. It feels calm, laid-back, and a bit boutique, with swings that make the shared areas fun and relaxing. I spotted Brahminy kites easily, and even saw a kingfisher. Breakfast was fresh, homely, and delicious. The rooms are nicely designed and comfortable. The bathrooms felt quite basic compared with the rest of the place. I also thought hot water might come only from a particular tap rather than the shower, but didn’t check with management since the weather didn’t call for hot showers.
