The food was mind-blowingly good, and the rooms are gorgeous. The staff were so sweet and helpful, and everything is run really efficiently. I was already planning another visit ten minutes after arriving, and can’t wait to come back. The property is very close to the beach, around a 5-7 minute walk. It’s safe, green, and gorgeous.

The team are so friendly, the breakfast is really good, and the pool is perfect. It’s a lovely, relaxed base for exploring Varkala. The rooms are very spacious, with an attached outdoor ensuite bathroom, and the shower and hot water were excellent. We loved the outside seating area, great for cards or just reading a book.

My four day stay was the worst experience. If you’re not comfortable around dogs, you shouldn’t consider this place. They charge for everything: having food brought to your room costs rupees 200 in service charges, and asking for a plate costs rupees 50 each. Basic things come with separate charges.

The one hard part was having to leave. The homemade breakfasts and dinners were clearly made with love, and we loved having them on our own terrace, with lush greenery all around. The team took great care of us throughout. From my first contact with Sid, before we’d even arrived, we felt welcome and looked after. The property was stunning, and the owners were professional, friendly, and hospitable. Thank you, Sid, Shama, and the team. We’d love to return to Varkala one day.
