The beach is only about a five minute walk away, and there’s good parking space, though the roads around Varkala are narrow. The room and bathroom were clean. But the bed was the least comfortable I’ve ever slept on, and I could feel the springs even though I’m not a fussy sleeper. There was shampoo and soap but no body wash or hand towel, and the shower had no hot water, only the tap. Ground floor rooms also get constant noise from reception. It’s an okay place if beach access is what you want and you can get it for 2-3k. Otherwise, there are better options.
