Selvan made a strong impression on us, first helping us with a warm welcome and later getting our car washed and ready when we checked out. He's down to earth, understands customers, and has a positive attitude. We stayed one night as a family, slept comfortably, and enjoyed dinner: chicken biriyani, chicken chettinad, and nann bread. Breakfast the next morning, iddily with sambar and chutney, plus poori and potato masala, was yum too. I wanted to give five stars, but couldn't get coffee between 10:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. Also, after I left the dirty dishes outside and asked reception to clear them, they were still there three hours later until I asked again.

The complimentary breakfast was tasteless and a waste, and the staff made the stay worse. From reception to room service, they seemed inexperienced and raw, acted like they were our masters, and showed an attitude that doesn't belong in a hotel. Hospitality seems unknown to the whole team. Irresponsible staff can ruin your stay at considerable cost, and the management isn't fit to run a hotel. We stayed as a family last week, and I wouldn't advise anyone to come here. Nobody will want to return.

The restaurant deserves credit too, and the owner going around the kitchen may be why the food is so tasty and delicious. The rooms were well maintained and spacious enough. Staff showed great empathy, responded quickly to questions, and understood what we needed, even customizing things for us. Facility, value for money, cleanliness, location, food, and behavior all get 10/10 from me. Hope this post helps others who care about service quality. Keep it up, team shanky.

We wanted a clean place with good facilities, and Chandra Royal Inn was exactly where we'd stay in Velankanni. It's a business hotel in a calm area, away from traffic and the cramped, dirty places we saw at other resorts and hotels. The service was excellent, and the restaurant made good, tasty food. My wife and I are particular about cleanliness and standards, so we highly recommend it. Thanks for the excellent service. I hope they keep it up and stay humble.

The parking had plenty of space, the toilet was clean, and the restaurant was okay after a tiring day, though there weren't many choices. The rest of the stay had serious problems. There was no hot water in the bathroom late at night or early in the morning, the AC couldn't cope with the Velankanni heat, the bedspreads were torn, and the TV channels were unclear. The lifts weren't working, and guests on higher floors were told bluntly they could leave. With family, I felt we had to put up with it rather than end up stranded without a room. They also accepted cash only, with no digital payment. I went along because we had few options with family, but later noticed the receipt had no invoice number. It made me suspect the money wasn't being accounted for.
