Annapara Homestay

We stayed in the family room, a spacious heritage-style space designed with sustainability in mind, right by the forest where we saw many kinds of birds. The pool was a special treat, fed by natural streams, so the water felt very cold and fresh. Praveen and Shibu were lovely hosts. They welcomed us warmly and arranged a picturesque trek through their tea estate to a hidden waterfall. The home-cooked food was tasty and authentic, made with fresh hand-pounded masalas. It was a beautiful, peaceful homestay.

The rooms were clean, vintage in style, nicely lit, and had lovely views. The stay gave us some much-needed time to ourselves, and we also made new friends who felt like family. We’ll cherish it and definitely return. Our pet had a wonderful time roaming freely and playing with everyone, which made the place feel especially welcoming. One of the highlights for us was the no-chlorine pool, where fresh water circulated continuously. An early morning swim felt like an ice bath, very refreshing. Praveen and Shibu sir made us feel at home from the moment we arrived, greeting us with juice and such genuine hospitality. On the second morning they took us near the pool to watch the sunrise. It looked like a volcano erupting from the mountain tip, a magical sight we’ll remember. We cooked outside our room one day using our own vessels, and the hosts also prepared a wonderful dinner with freshly purchased ingredients. The cooking team deserves thanks for the authentic, fresh food throughout our stay. After dinner, the families gathered around a campfire to share stories and laughs. The hosts arranged a 5 km trek for all the families. We climbed to the top of a tea estate plantation for panoramic views, then visited a beautiful waterfall on the way back and spent time enjoying nature together.

We loved every part of our stay, and the hospitality from Zafar and Reshma was so warm. It was a restorative, refreshing break. Shibu and Praveen on the staff helped make it memorable, and the chef did a great job with our requests. We hope to visit again before long.
