OYO 18993 Hotel Jyoti Swaroopa

The rail station and other popular places are well connected from here, and there are good food options nearby, like satyam and sairam parlour. But my stay wasn't good. I booked through OYO during a festival discount offer, and when I arrived the hotel insisted I pay the full price because of long-pending commission issues with OYO. I raised it with OYO, but nothing came of it, and I ended up paying full price. There's no pantry service, and they don't provide warm water when needed. A bachelor might manage, but staying here with family would be tough.

The rooms smelled bad, and the AC only worked intermittently. Staff seemed more interested in tips than customer service, and they asked for tips despite providing little or no service. I booked through oyo and got a big discount by saying I'd pay online in the app. The front desk still made me pay them the full amount, so I lost the discount. They also charged 600 rupees for an extra bed but didn't provide one, since there was already a small extra bed in the room. That charge wasn't included on the bill either. This is what I experienced. I'd choose another hotel to avoid the same trouble.

The location is handy, close to the RTC complex, railway station, and market, and RK beach isn't far. The hotel itself is bare minimum, basically just a room with no room service. If other reviews say you have to ask again and again for basics, that's been my experience too. We waited an hour for towels, and when reception answered a call they'd forget the request. During our three-day stay, nobody cleaned my room. The bedding wasn't very clean and had hairs here and there, as if it hadn't been changed after the last checkout. Hot water kept coming and going while I was showering.

We stayed for four days and never got breakfast, even though booking said it was complimentary. When we asked, they wanted us to pay for it. The room they first gave us was dirty and had no TV, and the next morning they turned off the AC and said it wasn't working. We asked for another room to be cleaned, and they did a good job, but then found two insects on the cot with the windows closed.
