OYO 79382 Anu Grand

The rooms were clean and really good for the price, and maintenance was very good too. I’d give it 5/5.

This place has a terrible reputation with locals and the police. If you take a room, be ready for police to show up late at night saying they need to check the rooms.

My main problem was the extra ₹100 advance charged when I checked in at Hotel O Anu Grand, which hadn't been disclosed when I booked. I checked out at 9:30 AM on June 15, 2025, and still didn't get it back. They gave me no receipt or explanation. Other guests have also mentioned unexpected charges, including a ₹200 registration fee, which isn't typical for OYO properties. That lack of transparency made it hard to trust the hotel. Hotel O Anu Grand is in Allipuram near Visakhapatnam Railway Station, about 2 km away. It's advertised as a convenient, affordable budget 3-star OYO, at around ₹579-728 a night, and lists AC, free Wi-Fi, TV, and a geyser. But my stay was disappointing. The rooms were cramped and smelled bad, the booking was delayed, staff weren't cooperative, and maintenance was poor. Those problems outweighed the convenient location.

There was no hot water, and cockroaches seemed to have brought their whole family to share the room. The management was awful. Wi-Fi only worked if you stayed in one particular room, since that's the only room where they installed it. Even with a booking through the OYO app, the staff demanded extra payment. At checkout, they kept coming one by one to ask us for money. I don't understand why they listed the hotel on OYO when they clearly don't want people booking through the app.
