Waltair Abode

I was there with my family, and check-in took time away from us. The room we got for the paid early check-in hadn’t been cleaned properly at all. When we pointed out the dirty sheets the next day, we were told cleaning takes a long time and that staff would be available around 9 or 9:30. We waited until 10. A different receptionist was much more polite that evening and helped get it cleaned. There’s no complimentary early check-in. Security didn’t help when we arrived, but at checkout they were quick to carry our suitcases, seemingly hoping for a tip. I ended up giving 100 rupees because their looks made anything less feel embarrassing. Frustrating, especially for such a nice hotel.

I planned to stay in a Superior room at Waltair Abode for three nights, Dec 5-7, but left after two. The room was okay, but the sheets weren’t clean, and I had to ask every day for fresh towels. Room service was even worse. I called three times for two bottles of water, then finally went downstairs and got them myself. The employees didn’t seem to care whether I had a good stay. I’ve stayed in over 200 hotel rooms, and this was the worst of them. I spent my third night somewhere else, with lots of better options at this price. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

The location is the one good thing here. The employees don’t know how to speak to customers, and communication matters in hotel service. I won’t stay here again.

Worst experience ever. The owner has no manners when dealing with customers, and the service was worse than any hotel I’ve stayed at. Whenever I asked for something, I had to call at least four or five times. I asked for a towel, for example, and didn’t get one all day. They don’t listen to or value their guests at all.
