Zostel Visakhapatnam (Vizag)

The dorm beds are comfortable and very affordable, with secure lockers for bags, and everything is kept clean. The ambience is great and the rooms are well maintained. Rundra, the friendly dog, adds a lot of warmth, and it’s easy to meet people in the welcoming atmosphere. Bike rentals are available too, which is a big plus. Cheap, clean, friendly, and well worth it. I had a great stay at Zostel!

On my first solo trip, staying in a zostel was a completely different experience. I kept meeting new friends, and the service was very nice. Even sharing a room with three other people, I still had privacy. I felt very safe, the staff were helpful, and they had home cooked food at a minimal price. The room, bathroom, and bedding were clean, and it really felt like home. The location is reachable from the railway station, bus stand, and rk beach.

The reception and exterior looked decent at first, but the inner halls and room were untidy and smelled strongly. I should have taken photos, but I was in a hurry to leave. It was impossible to rest in those conditions, so I had to book another hotel. I arrived around 10 PM because of my flight schedule and was already exhausted from traveling. As a woman on my own, finding the place in that state so late was distressing as well as frustrating. I had to leave and travel again late at night to find somewhere else, which shouldn’t happen during a paid stay. Cleanliness and hygiene are basic requirements, regardless of price or location. This was a very unpleasant, avoidable experience that showed a serious lack of upkeep and responsibility from management. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless cleanliness and maintenance improve significantly.

I planned a 3-day trip to Zostel Vizag but stayed for 14 days because I liked it so much. The hostel is clean, well maintained, and in a great location, but it’s the people and the energy that made it feel like home. The night manager Sri was a big part of that. He organized fun activities, spontaneous rides, and birthday celebrations, and was simply great to talk to. There were smiles, laughter, and new friendships every day. Highly recommend it if you’re heading to Vizag.
