Vythiri Meadows Hotel

Charming place in a great location. Think of it as a home stay rather than a hotel or resort. The service works, but there are no frills. Villas are basic, beds are small, bathrooms are clean, and getting to the room or bedroom can involve some climbing. Anyone with bad knees may want to consider that. Still, it all works. The quaint sitouts around the property are nice for chilling or sitting in the sun. There’s room to move around, friendly staff who’ll help if you ask, a pet friendly space, reasonable rooms with balconies, and mountain views. Wayanad has a small town charm and pace, and you can hear birds chirping and wind rustling despite being only a few mins away from the road. A few adjoining properties have people partying, though it wasn’t a major concern. The mosque is loud, so be ready for an early wake up. Could it be better maintained, with stronger service and staff, or buggies to get around? Sure, but maybe this place shouldn’t be buzzing with hotel staff and buggies. Forgotten by not gone.

We came with friends and found the property poorly maintained. The resort villas are right beside residential homes, but nobody told us about that. Noise at night brought complaints, and neighbors were even ready to confront us. The hotel should have warned us about those restrictions. It made the stay uncomfortable, so I wouldn’t recommend it to groups hoping to relax and enjoy themselves.

The food was tasty and hygienic, especially the traditional kerala breakfast. The non veg items at dinner were lip smacking too. We rented some duplex villas for a trip with friends, and the rooms were good and well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a great time using the swimming pool and games room, and they also provided a camp fire.
