InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort by IHG

We spent much of the vacation happily inside the resort, moving between the beach, pool, restaurant, and its cozy corners. A grand wedding was taking place while we were there, but the thoughtful layout meant we barely noticed it. The architecture and atmosphere are beautiful and tasteful, luxurious without being showy, and they fit the coastal setting well. Our daughter got the beach experience we’d hoped for: clean sand, open skies, waves, shells, and crabs. The private beach was peaceful, clean, and much less crowded than nearby beaches. We built sandcastles, chased tiny crabs along the shore, and collected shells as souvenirs. Those simple moments became the best memories of the trip. The rooms were spacious and cozy, with warm interiors and premium details. Ours had a jacuzzi, which made the stay extra relaxing and romantic. We also enjoyed playing chess and UNO as a family on the little balcony sit-out. Above the restaurant, the recreation center had chess, carrom, pool, and a separate kids’ play area. The caring, attentive caretaker there made a big difference for us as parents. Food was fantastic. The complimentary breakfast and dinner buffets had plenty of variety and consistently good quality, and the à la carte lunch was just as impressive. Dining staff were courteous, proactive, and hospitable. We even received a few complimentary gestures that made the stay feel more personal. Some vacations are for sightseeing, and some are for slowing down and making family memories. This stay at InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort was the latter. It’s a wonderful mix of luxury, warmth, family-friendly experiences, and peaceful coastal charm. We can’t wait to return someday.
