I wouldn’t recommend staying here with family. The place looked more like a hostel than a hotel, and our rooms were dirty and smelled bad. We were charged Rs 4,400 for two rooms, though I felt the rate should have been Rs 1,000 per room. When I asked the owner for a 50% refund, he told me to do whatever I wanted and said he wouldn’t refund anything. I’m adding details because there’s no way to reply to the owner’s comment. We arrived at 2:00 PM, and the manager asked us to wait 1 hour and 30 minutes while the rooms were cleaned. We came back around 3:45 PM after lunch, but the rooms were still dirty, as shown in the pictures. After waiting another hour, we decided at 4:30 PM to cancel the stay. I have a receipt showing our arrival and departure times. I asked for half the money back, not all of it, since I know hotels may not refund 100%. If you’re considering a place like this, I suggest checking the hotel in person before booking online.

The food was expensive, and the portions we received were far smaller than what we requested. For dinner, they asked how much chicken we wanted by weight, and we said 2 kg because we felt obliged to give a quantity. Only about 1 kg was served, with the rest, we were told, eaten by staff at dinner. We asked about quantities with every order, and each time the amount was badly short.

At a price under 2k, this is the best place we found. It’s near boating and Poopy Hills, and the housekeeping staff were helpful. The food is homely, but you need to let them know ahead so they can prepare it. I liked it better than the food at restaurants outside in Yercaud. Just don’t expect a luxury hotel.

Madhurimas is reasonably priced, neat, and clean, with staff who are pleasant and ready to help guests. The green setting feels snug and peaceful, and it looks especially lovely when there’s mist. It’s close to the boat house and Yercaud lake. A very comfortable place to stay, and I’d recommend it to friends.
