The location and the place itself are very nice, but our experience was completely spoiled by the host or owner. He was extremely controlling and scolded us over the smallest things. He even threatened to put us out on the street without remorse. We did reach an agreement, but after that we spent the rest of the trip stressed, never knowing what might make him kick us out. Stay at your own risk. I’d suggest keeping the stay to one night or less.

For the price, it’s a good deal. The room was large and comfortable, and the huge toilet was bigger than any room. Amma Guesthouse is easy to find in Akuryeri, neat and clean, and the owner lives there and is available anytime. There’s parking, and the common area is comfortable too. The kitchen is in the basement, though I wish it had been cleaner.

We had a good stay. The guest house and its large bathroom were clean, and the owner was very polite. He even guided us to the nearest grocery store.

I spent five months here during my Erasmus stay. The guesthouse is clean, and the price is quite reasonable for Iceland. It’s near the center and really close to the swimming pool. There are two bathrooms, three toilets, and a big room with a TV. The fridge is shared, so don’t be surprised if some sausages go missing. :D

You can walk to restaurants, pubs, a bookstore, and the water park from here, and the city center is close by. The room is a decent size, and the bathroom on the second floor is big.
