SAGA Circle Villas

We had a great holiday after the staff promptly moved us to another apartment, essentially upgrading our booking. The heat regulator in the neat, perfectly fine apartment we'd booked through booking.com was broken, so we couldn't lower the temperature inside. The SAGA villas assistant on duty was very supportive and quick to help. The replacement house was perfect, and the hot tub is a real must-try. Sagas villas sits in the middle of the 'Golden Circle', making it a perfect base for exploring this beautiful country. A real gem for a trip with family, children, or friends. Very satisfied.

The accommodation is spacious, but very dated. We had a really uncomfortable night at Saga Circle Villa because it was far too warm inside. This was in December. We opened every window and the main door, set the thermostat to minimum, and left the fan on all night. I suspect something is wrong with the heating system.

What was advertised doesn't match the unit I was given. I expected a modern two-bedroom house, but ended up in a cramped, dated 25m² space attached to the side of another house. There isn't enough room to open a suitcase properly or sit and watch television, and it falls well below any reasonable standard. Guests should know that the units aren't all comparable, and the listing doesn't reflect what was provided.

The lack of a front desk means that when questions or problems come up, you're left to figure them out on your own in the quiet. If self-reliance is part of the experience, this place certainly delivers. The listing showed a kitchen, but there wasn't one, which was a problem since I planned to eat in the room. There was a remarkably large refrigerator, but no microwave or kitchen to go with it. Quite a design choice, and I can only wonder what culinary experience it was supposed to make possible. The hot tub is advertised as a highlight, but how to use it remains a mystery. When I tried, it was full of floating debris, giving it a back-to-nature feel, whether intentional or not.
