The bathroom was dirty, with other people’s hair in the sink and shower, and there were spiders, cobwebs, dead bugs, and dust around the cottage. We also had no hot water, and the hot tub we booked partly for was half full of cold water, so it was unusable. Worst of all, the heating was broken. Even with space heaters, the baby’s room fell to 13°C, and we spent the night worried about our baby’s health. We’d expected a comfortable, clean stay for the price, but ended up cold and neglected during what should have been a special 40th birthday trip. Management only replied by text, despite my repeated requests for a call. They said a handyman would come in 20 minutes, but we waited more than two hours and nobody arrived. Their alternative was a dome 15 minutes away, which wasn’t workable with a baby and all our luggage. We had to figure things out ourselves. When we asked for compensation, they offered only a partial refund. The lack of urgency and care left us with a ruined trip and no real resolution. I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you value comfort, safety, or peace of mind.
