The homemade rye bread was so good I could have eaten it as a meal, and the plokkfiskur was just as memorable. The fish was tender and fresh, with rich, balanced flavors. I came away feeling I’d had a genuinely Icelandic meal at this lovely little restaurant. It’s cozy inside, with a welcoming Icelandic feel. The owners are from Flateyri in the Westfjords and were warm, funny, and happy to share stories about their hometown. You can feel how much care and pride goes into the food. If you’re after an authentic taste of Iceland, this is the place to try instead of a tourist trap.

We were pleasantly surprised by this great coffee shop. The menu has lots to choose from, including plenty of vegan options, and the staff are really friendly. Our food came out in no time and looked as good as it tasted. We’d definitely return. Also, as a few earlier reviews mentioned, the bathroom is very clean and smells lovely :)

The soup was delicious, and the couple working there were so friendly, attentive, and patient. It’s a quiet, fun place with an authentic feel. Almost the whole menu is gluten-free, which makes it a great fit for people with celiac disease. A really lovely experience!

We stopped by on a Monday afternoon, and the owner noticed my sister knitting. She brought her over to meet a group of fun, friendly women who get together there every week to knit. My sister ended up joining their circle, and it made her whole trip to Iceland. The cafe itself is charming and cozy, with excellent coffee, snacks, and cakes, and the owner is delightful. The setting in Fleyteri is beautiful too.

The woman who served us was lovely, and she may have been the owner. We tried two homemade cakes, both delicious, and the double espresso was excellent too. It’s a delightful little cafe in a small fishing village, with simple decor.
