Lækjarkot Rooms and Cottages with Kitchen

It was fine for us, and having two bedrooms was nice, but these were static caravans rather than cottages as advertised. The places were well equipped. We visited in early July, with 24-hour sunlight, and the curtains didn’t block it out. The beds also weren’t very comfortable.

We checked ourselves in easily, and the stay was nice, quiet, and well located. Our so-called room with a view faced farm equipment, though the other side had a gorgeous view, so it wasn’t a big deal. The bed was comfortable. The hosts asked us to keep the windows shut to keep bugs out and not adjust the temperature controls. It was so bloody hot that we opened the windows anyway. I promise no bugs got in.

The staff were warm and professional, always ready to help. The hotel was spotless, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable, with a relaxing atmosphere. I can only recommend it 👍

It was much too expensive for what we got. The cottage was dirty throughout, including the toilets and kitchen, and in generally bad shape. The houses seemed like they’d had their best years in the 80s and hadn’t been maintained since. Everything felt worn out and cheap. The windows wouldn’t close, so Gnitz came in, covered the bed, and bit us all night. The location was rather nice, although still close to the main road. We got no communication before arrival. The reservation system said check-in was only until 19h, which seemed odd. I asked about it and got no answer, so we rushed to arrive by 19h, only to find nobody there and the cottage already open.
