Lambalækur

A cozy little place where we slept really well. Having our own bathroom was a real plus, and waking up to that windy view was relaxing 😊.

The house dates back to the late '800, and it’s fascinating to feel how the spirit of icelandic people has been preserved there. We enjoyed the generous breakfast food. The room is a little small, but that makes sense in such an old house. It’s pretty much in the middle of nowhere, so it’s a good spot for a longer trip. For an authentic travel experience, this is what you need. I loved it.

The self-serve breakfast had a large spread, and the kitchen was well stocked for cooking. Just keep in mind it can feel cramped if several groups are cooking or cleaning at once. We stayed in a downstairs room with a private bathroom and found it very comfortable. The house had plenty of charm, though it was definitely old and squeaky. There are larger grocery stores in the nearby town.

The guesthouse has such a distinctive character, from its vintage decor to the little personal touches. It feels homey, like visiting old friends, and has a soul of its own. The views are stunning, with rolling hills and breathtaking skies stretching as far as you can see. Staying here was like stepping into a dream. I can’t recommend it highly enough!
