We loved the cottage so much that we nearly stayed an extra night. The view was amazing, and waking up to the first snowfall of winter was spectacular. It felt well worth the money. The kitchen worked perfectly for heating up our food, and the shower was lovely and warm. The water pressure and hot water were spot on, as you'd expect in Iceland. There was a very cute little description of the farm and the accommodation's history. I think missing out on a cottage stay means you haven't really travelled Iceland properly. If I visit East Iceland again, I'd highly recommend this place. I'm thinking of making it an annual stop.

The cottages are very cute, and the view from ours was beautiful. There are signs pointing out different sights in the area. The restaurant is there, but it closes in August. The cottage layout needs to be assigned by number: two rooms with two single beds in each, plus a sofa that pulls out into a double bed.

A perfect spot to get away from the busy routine and enjoy nature. The scenery is stunning, with reindeer roaming nearby.

The views and waterfall were lovely, and the location worked well for us. I couldn't find anything else around this area. It felt a little expensive, around $300 per cottage per night, but that's part of the Iceland experience. I'd stay here again. We had three cabins for my family in April 2025 and didn't interact with anyone in person. Check-in instructions arrived by email ahead of time, the cabin doors were unlocked, and we left the rooms unlocked when we departed. It was efficient. The wifi didn't work, though we didn't mind and used our phone hot spot instead. The kitchen was small but effective, and we made a few simple dinners there. The cabins were plenty warm, there was enough hot water for a couple of showers, the beds were comfortable enough, and there was a nice sitting area.

The scenery and location are stunning, and the drive in and out was spectacular. It was very pricey for a one-night stay. The Barn restaurant was the only food option.
