Welcome Lambafell

We arrived at 7:30 PM, within the 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM check-in window, after booking through AMEX travel. We were told there should be an emailed code, but it never came. I called for an hour and a half and nobody picked up, leaving me without a place to sleep with my wife and two young children. We ended up at a much better hotel in Selfoss. I asked AMEX to remove this property from its site, and they reported it. Hopefully it comes off the booking sites or starts having someone on site.

The hotel was closed, with nobody around. We were emailed instructions to use a self-catering chalet instead, so we went hungry because we’d expected a restaurant. We’d paid for breakfast too, but none was offered. The jacuzzi was lukewarm and green. We tried calling the number they gave us, but nobody answered. Appalling experience, and I’m still trying without success to get a refund. Worst stay.

We arrived at 8:20pm during the stated 4-9pm check-in hours. Lights were on, but there was nobody there, not even other guests. We’d booked through hotels.com and were told by confirmation email to call for a digital key code before arrival. We called many times that day and got no answer, and our messages through hotels.com were never returned. We’ve asked hotels.com to remove the hotel from its listings. Since we paid in advance using a mix of rewards points and cash, getting our money back has meant many emails and calls, and it’s still ongoing. This place seems like a scam. Stay at your own risk!

Complete scam. We booked through Expedia, never received check-in instructions, and the phone numbers were out of service. The email address they provided literally looked like “——————@————.——“. We had to urgently find somewhere else to stay and ask for our money back. DO NOT BOOK.
