A waterfall right beside the property and horses all around make this a beautiful spot. The hosts were friendly, and it’s calm and quiet, just right for unwinding. I’d definitely stay longer next time.

We had a comfortable stay at Stora-Asgeirsa, with a very friendly host and neighbor. It felt like an authentic working horse ranch, and you can add a horseback riding experience. The onsite pub and small natural hot tub overlooking a little waterfall made it even more enjoyable. We highly recommend it.

We stayed one night in the larger two-bedroom suite, a convenient midway stop between Snæfellsnes peninsula and Akureyri. The farm family welcomed us warmly, and the boys enjoyed helping feed the horses. My youngest even shot hoops with the owner at the basketball goal in the barn. The setting was beautiful and quiet, with a waterfall in the backyard. We didn’t get to try the hot tub, but it looked like it would be pretty great. Kolugljúfur canyon is about ten minutes down the road and was a cool place to explore. Highly recommend!

The farm view from the clean studio was lovely, and it had a kitchenette. Horse riding lessons are available, though we didn’t have time for them. A very nice waterfall with lots of steps is just eight minutes away to the south.

We got to pet the horses and other animals, then relax in the fantastic hot tub with a waterfall in the background. Such a beautiful place to stay!
